Handcrafted Unique Creations
Located in the vibrant art and creative hub of Brighton I find so much inspiration to continue my clay journey. Sharing a large studio near the beach for many years with like minded artists, my lifelong love of pottery found new fresh expression.
My journey began in Macduff, a beautiful fishing town where unrestricted access to the sea and countryside was plentiful and formed my love of nature. This led me to a Post Diploma in Ceramics and Sculpture at Aberdeen Grays School of Art. After graduating I had in mind to do a bit of travelling for a year and felt so happy and comfortable in Greece that the year was extended to almost twenty! My sun soaked odyssey was filled with teaching English, learning Greek, working on the islands as a Holiday Rep and finally running my own bar on a windsurfing beach in Vassiliki, Lefkas.
Yet the pull of clay was irresistible and along with my rescue dog, Holly, we drove back to the UK together. Drawn back to clay and the need to create I fuse my love of nature, travel and craftsmanship into every piece that comes out of my kiln. Stoneware clay’s earthy strength allows me to make frost resistant outdoor pots and inspires me to make everything from wall planters, ceramic flowers, sculptural birds, bird feeders, large bird baths to even creating Memorial Flowers that can permanently hold a little ash from your deceased pet or loved one. All made with empathy and care.
